After washing, apply some lotion on your hands. The use of lotion or hand cream helps maintain an intact skin barrier and moisturizes it.
These products are emulsions and are water-based. Oils, butters, water, glycerine and essential oils are some of the ingredients used. These ingredients are then emulsified (think mayonnaise!) through the use of emulsifying agents to give the product smooth consistency.

A lotion bar is a solid lotion that resembles a bar of soap, but works like a lotion.
Lotion bars are made from all natural ingredients including butters, waxes, and oils. There are cocoa and shea butter, beeswax, jojoba oil, avocado butter and sweet almond oil.
The lotion bar is best applied on wet skin for a gliding effect.
4. Hand Balm
Hand balms contain waxes that give it a more solid consistency. Some of these waxes are beeswax, carnauba, candelilla, and rice bran. These waxes form a protective barrier on the skin. They lock in moisture and conditions the skin. A little application goes a long way. Balms usually come in small packaging. That makes it ideal for travel.
5. Oils
Apply oils on your hands after washing to moisturize them. There are oils that get absorbed by the skin within seconds of application. They are dry oils.
Dryness refers to the finish that the oil leaves on the skin. They do not leave that sticky feeling.
Some dry oils that are:
